The Friends of the K&P and Cataraqui Trail Rides

These group rides are for trail riders looking for longer outings on the K&P and Cataraqui trails.   They have riding durations between 2 to 3 hours, with additional time for planned stops along the way.

The trails vary from almost groomed surfaces to loose gravel to pot holes to gates and other obstructions.    So riders must be confident they can handle these types of variations.

As far as bikes, riders should have bikes that are intended for trails such as: mountain, hybrid and gravel bikes.  Road bikes are not adequate!   Helmets are mandatory!

Leadership for the ride will be provided by Laurie Whitby, Bruce Hopkins, Ed Paul and Mary-Jean McIntyre.  Other riders may be assigned supporting roles as needed.

Safety Presentation: The first order of business will be to review “social distancing” requirements and safety on the route.

  • At all times, we must maintain "social distancing" of at least 2 meters from other riders particularly at all ride stops and at the half way point.
  • We will cover drafting and side by side riding during the Safety Presentation.

Riders are expected to bring liquid and food supplies they will need for the ride.
