The Routes
Welcome to another Saddle Up Sunday.   This event offers short, medium, long and extra long riding distances (D-41, C-58, B-73  and A-104 km).  From the start location, all of the routes head east across the Rideau Canal system and into lovely farm country north of Gananoque. Want a treat at the end of this event - we highly recommend you schedule in some time for refreshments at The Cookery (see below).

Special Notes About This Ride
  • On all four routes, the paving on the stretch heading west on Sand Hill Rd towards Highway 15 is rough.
  • The crossing of Upper Brewer's Locks and Lower Brewer's Locks requires raising the bike onto its rear wheel, and then walking it across the lock gates.
  • The bridge on Washburn Rd is closed to cars, etc. However, pedestrians with bikes are permitted to cross it. Stay on the outside of the construction fence, cross the lock gates and then walk across the bridge.

Pace Groups
When registering, be sure to indicate your preferred pace group:

  • the short and medium routes will generally be ridden at a D or C pace
  • the long and extra long routes will generally be ridden at a B or A pace

Ride Preparation  You should be familiar with Ontario's Safe Cycling Guidelines, and bring the following with you on the ride:

  • a copy of the ride route (downloaded to a mobile device or printed)
  • a spare tube, pump and repair kit
