WHERE WE GO
The KVC is unique. We ride everywhere in the Frontenac region! We ride close to Kingston, and we ride further afield. We ride on paved roads, on gravel roads, and on the wonderful trails network of our region. The maps below show many of our favourite routes.

Our full routes library is available in our account in the Ride With GPS app. Club members can download and use these routes on either bike computers or smart phones without incurring Ride With GPS subscription fees.

EDGE OF CITY ROUTES
Edge of City
Kingston has many excellent cycling routes that start near the edge of the city, and then head out onto relatively quiet country roads. The above map is a subcollection of some of our favourites.

COUNTRY ROAD ROUTES
SUS_A_Routes
The Club has a large collection of road routes that start outside of Kingston and explore the scenic country roads of the Frontenac region. The routes are categorized by distance as follows:
  • A routes - 90 to 110 km
  • B routes - 70 to 90 km
  • C routes - 55 to 70 km
  • D routes - 35 to 45 km

The above map shows the A road routes. The B, C and D road routes are generally abbreviated versions of the A road routes. Most of these routes are regularly ridden in our Saddle-Up-Sundays program.

GRAVEL ROUTES
GF_B_Routes
The Club has a large collection of gravel routes that start outside of Kingston and explore the fun gravel roads of the Frontenac region. The routes are categorized by distance as follows:
  • A routes - 90 to 110 km
  • B routes - 70 to 90 km
  • C routes - 55 to 70 km

The above map shows the B gravel routes. The A and C gravel routes are generally expanded or abbreviated versions of the B gravel routes. Most of these routes are regularly ridden in our Gravel Frontenac program.

RAIL TRAIL ROUTES
In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, an extensive network of railways was constructed in eastern Ontario, only to be abandoned in the latter part of the twentieth century. Fortunately various groups of farsighted folks managed to acquire a number of the abandoned rail trails for recreation purposes.

These rail trails are a wonderful cycling option for those looking for flatter routes without vehicle traffic. They are a particularly special place for families with younger children. During the course of the cycling season, we schedule numerous trail rides that start from Kingston, as well as from spots further out on the trails.
