CALLING 911

  • Cellular Coverage Showing If your phone shows that you have cellular coverage, just dial 911, and explain the situation to the person who answers.
  • NO Cellular Coverage Showing Start to turn your phone off. When you do this, an option to make an emergency call will appear. Tap on it. Your phone should connect to a cellular tower somewhere, even if you have no cellular coverage from your own cellular provider.

WHAT3WORDS APP

  • What It Does When you open the what3words app, there will be three words on your screen. They establish where you are to within three metres.
    • Verbal Option You can say the three words to the emergency services people to establish your position.
    • Text or Email Option Tap on the "Share" button on the screen. This will copy the three words into either a text or email which you can then send to send to someone to enable them to establish your position.
  • YouTube Videos Want more information about the what3words app? There are several YouTube videos that explore using the app in detail.

EMERGENCY CONTACTS

Need to get in touch with the designated emergency contact for a rider? This information is accessible on the KVC Member Emergency Contacts 0624. If the rider isn't on the list, access their emergency contact information by logging in to the KVC website and accessing the "Control Panel". From the "People" module, select "People Lookup". Search by the rider's last name, then click on the rider's name in the applicable "Search Results" row to access their emergency contact information.
