Christmas Eve day hike at the Foley Mountain Conservation Area near Westport. Distance 8km. Difficulty moderate as the trails has exposed roots and rocks, and is somewhat up and down. Meet at the Conservation area parking area at 9am. The ride will begin at 9am sharp. If you wish to car pool contact Karen Matthews. Lunch in Westport for those who wish.
MEETING PLACE:
8:00 790 Ashley Cres. Kingston (Karen and Bob's place)
9:00 Foley Mountain Conservation Area Parking Lot (up the big hill at Westport turn left into the conservation area
Plan for a full day as we can't predict the hiking conditions and weather. Bring water or a hot drink in a thermos and some snacks.
You may want to bring ice creepers to attach to you boots or even snowshoes if there has been recent or continual snow. Walking poles may also be a good option for you to help with balance over rough and frozen ground.
Dress in layers, ensure you have an extra pair of socks, a warm hat and mitts.
