Fall Night Ride on the K & P in the Dark
To See The Hunter's Moon!
Come experience the K & P Trail in a whole new way!
This Year's Hunter's Moon is the biggest and brightest Hunter's since 2007!
Meeting at 6:30 pm At Hydro Station on Merton Road to ride up the K & P Trail to Sydenham
and return - approx. 22km
Sunset at approx. 6:17
Lights are mandatory (minimum output 400 Lumens)
Remember to charge up your lights the day before!
B/C category ride, with some flexibility depending on how the group feels.
Clear Safety Glasses Recommended !
Dress accordingly it is cooler on the return from Sydenham.
Riders are expected to bring liquid and food supplies they will need for the ride.
Safety/Ride Preparation
- Safety Matters Please familiarize yourself with everything under the "Safety Matters" tab
- Lights Always use front and rear lights with daytime flashing modes
- Group Riding Communicate your movements (including speed changes) and any obstacles
- No Wheel Overlapping Just don't do it!
- Passing Always on the left, and call it out (typically, “on your left”)
- Traffic Laws Obey them!
- Things to Bring
- cell phone (if available), with the app "what3words" installed
- copy of the ride route (downloaded to a mobile device or printed)
- spare tube, pump and tool kit
- sufficient hydration and nutrition
- health card and document showing address and emergency contact information
